Loose teas need some sort of strainer. We recommend the Brew Basket for best steeping of loose teas. Unlike poor quality teaballs,
the Brew Basket allows the herbs to expand for greatest extraction of ingredients, and the fine stainless steel mesh does not leak leaves into the tea. Easily rinsed or put in the dishwasher, they are a must for natural tea drinkers.

Cover the teas while brewing to keep in essential oils and other volatile ingredients that can escape with heat. I like the Brew Basket with the lid, though any kind of cover can be used (canning lid, saucer, etc.)

Abalone Shell

Beautiful and natural, this is the container used traditionally to burn herbs for ceremony. Since the shells vary in thickness, some may be more fire-safe than others. Be careful to hold the shell from the side and place it on something that wonнt be affected by the potential heat.
